House Speaker Paul Ryan wins primary, defeats longshot GOP challenger praised by Donald Trump.
Ryan was being challenged by Paul Nehlen.
Nehlen had been courting Trump supporters and won praise from the Republican presidential nominee last week. But Trump endorsed Ryan days later.
Ryan had largely ignored Nehlen in what had been a sleepy primary before Trump thanked Nehlen on Twitter for his comments defending Trump. Nehlen won the backing of some prominent conservative figures, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, but it wasn't enough to overcome Ryan's popularity in his southeastern Wisconsin district.
Ryan was first elected in 1998 and this is his first re-election win since becoming speaker last fall.
It makes sense to me to blame the Republican voters of the first district of Wisconsin for putting Paul Ryan in Congress for the last 17 years but I blame 236 members of the Republican caucus in the House of Representatives who have worked with him every day for electing him as the Republican Party’s leader in 2015.
Stupid FIB.
Well, Wisconsin must like him. I have no dog in this fight.
Paul Ryan’s election totals in his district.
1998: Ryan 57-43
2000: Ryan 67-33
2002: Ryan 67-31
2004: Ryan 65-33
2006: Ryan 63-37
2008: Ryan 64-35
2010: Ryan 68-30
2012: Ryan 55-43
2014: Ryan 63-37
“Has there been any complaints of voter fraud?”
Not by anyone rational but I’m sure you can find more than a few here screaming voter fraud...
“but I blame 236 members of the Republican caucus in the House of Representatives who have worked with him every day for electing him as the Republican Partys leader in 2015.”
That’s true as well. They are all a bunch of dickless eunichs who’s only real concern is themselves, staying elected, and continuing to get money from rich bastards who don’t give a $hit about anything but money!
Now for an important rebuttal to Mr. Ditka from the Happy Schnapps Combo.
Hick low life cheesehead losers
Hey, is it true that Bears fans have stopped gambling on the outcome of Bears' games and instead bet on which game week Jay Cutler develops his annual vaginitis malady?
And Nehlen only managed 16%. He was a crappy candidate. Probably could have done better had he not spent $2 million and just filed to run. Pathetic.
Most candidates in a 2-way race do better than that if they just have a pulse.
Its hard to run against the Speaker. John Boehner got 99..2% of the vote in his District in the general election of 2012.
Nehlen was crap. He hurt himself more than helped. Ann Coulter and showing a three year old on a post card killed by an illegal when it was actually a 25 year old guy didn’t help his cause. What a dumb move.
novelty fashion industry.
I know, that's all you've got.
Nope, same guy. He has been in politics since he left school.
Damn it
Plus milk, cheese, tractors, Harley-Davidson motorcycles and - of course - BEER.
Actually, your state -Florida, I believe - would still be a backwater swamp without air conditioning and tourist dollars. I love Florida, but using your logic that would be the case.
Lighten up, Francis.
Don't forget inbred knucklheads, fools, bad roads, high taxes, neocon politicians, deer infected with CWD (Mad Cow), no 2nd Amendment in it's Constitution until recently,a communist university (The "Berkley" of the midwest), has-been run down cities, fools, and lousy weather.
Yep it a cheesebrains paradise
As Ben Franklin said, You might not always get the Government you want, but you always get the Government you deserve. After the bullshit settles down, it turns out that the new boss is the same as the old boss.
If you say so.
