Thanks for the roadtrip to Ft. Riley! I remember when txradioguy was stationed there!
Now, he’s been in Germany several years and is just now moving back stateside. To Kentucky.
Hi Kathy!
Lynn-Dah started the choking routine again tonight.
I walked her, and she nibbled some grass and it seemed to work instantly to calm her right down, and she is now resting comfortably.
I know that dogs are NOT supposed to eat grass, but it helped her woof up that hairball the last time we went through this. I only allowed her to do it a little bit, and she seemed to know exactly what kind of grass to nibble on.
I can’t afford to keep taking her the ER, at $120+ per visit, and have them just tell me she’s senile.
I’ve been brushing her 2X a day, but she has a huge fluffy undercoat (from her chow-chow heritage), and each time I brush her I fill a grocery bag. Yet, she doesn’t look “patchy” at all. Her “overcoat” is sleek and shiny, albeit a little grey.
After she disgorged that last hairball, she was so thrilled and relieved she did the “Happy Puppy Dance” all over the house.
She may have to wear the “Cone of Shame” for a while during shedding season, to keep her from grooming herself.
Poor Baby! (((sigh)))
Yeah, I got here late both nights this weekend and you were already off to dreamland.
Yes, we got a little rain Sat. and a little more today. Supposedly have good chances for it every day this week. We’ll take it! The bean pods are out on the plants now and we reeeeeeeally need rain now.
Today was one of my days to “mind the shop” at our HQ along with our group’s president. Slow day but she and I had a grand time celebrating all the victories for our side in last week’s primaries.
Hit the grocery store for a few items on the way home. Such an exciting day. LOL
Howdy, Kathy.
Surviving the day ok? Hope that cold isn’t kicking your hiney too hard.
Howdy, LUV.
Have a good day off? Get anything accomplished or did you just lay back? :-)
I was stationed at Riley for 5 long years. When I left I swore I would never set foot in Kansas again. And to this day I haven’t!
Hey, radu!
I did some laundry and changed sheets, but that’s about all! Oh, and had an awesome nap. ;)
That was my last duty post.
LOL! You and my hubby must be related. He takes a nap every day and just woke up from today’s a few minutes ago. Guess he’ll be up all night now.
Ugh. Laundry. That’s on the itinerary for tomorrow here. :-(
Well LUV didn’t take too long a nap, she was posting some great stuff on FB :-)
Not sure what I’ll do here. The house is pretty clean and all I NEED to do is fold the laundry, but I usually put that off as long as possible. LOL!
LOL! Thanks! I try to get the word out! Have some on Twitter and find lots of good ones there to share.
We GOTTA defete HiLIARy!!
So she took a cat nap, huh?
Or as Hubby calls them, a “power nap”. LOL!
I hope a little housework is all I have to do. Piper hasn’t been eating well and I may need to take her to the vet. Just have to wait to see how she does overnight and when I wake up.
I hope she’ll be ok. Maybe the heat is getting to her. Sometimes in the summer mine don’t eat as much either.
Evening, Lauren, Kathy! Thanks for the pics!
5 yrs, one place, hardly a TDY, eh? What was the last year of that stretch? Looooong time to be in the same place!
She’s in the house all the time so heat isn’t the culprit. She almost acts afraid of food and I thought she might have a bad tooth. But I looked and couldn’t see any signs of that. No sneezing and no vomiting but she’s dropped more weight than I’m comfortable with.
I keep a few cans of Fancy Feast on hand for Darla when her appetite drops off. Just offered Piper some and she ate half a can. As long as she’ll eat something, we can save the $$ for a vet bill.
Guess that means laundry and other household chore fun. ohboyohboy.
Well, I hope eating something that has tempted her will help her gain her strength and she won’t have to go to the vet. It gets SO expensive!
Darn laundry! It’s ALways there! LOL!
She’s eaten enough to not get weak. Just hasn’t eaten as well as she usually does. She’s acted hungry all along and has eaten a bit but the acting afraid is what puzzles me.
She didn’t act afraid a few minutes ago so if it takes feeding her Fancy Feast for a little while to get her back on track, that’s what I’ll do. Cheaper than a trip to the vet!
Laundry, dust and dirt, cat hair - - ALways there to be dealt with. *sigh* But it’s something to do when it’s too durn hot to do things outside.
