A new candidate has tossed his hat in the ring for president.
MSNBCs Joe Scarborough has the details
BREAKING FIRST ON @Morning_Joe: Multiple sources say an independent conservative candidate will announce his candidacy for president today.

The candidate revealed by sources has an impressive resume and the backing of key $$ contributors in the Republican Party.

Multiple sources tell me the candidate is Evan McMullin. Wharton grad, CIA alum, Goldman Sachs, Republican Policy Director, US House

Who is Evan McMullin?
From Independent Journal Review:
1) Evan McMullin, who is 40 years old, had a minimal public profile before announcing
McMullin had just 135 Twitter followers when the story broke, according to BuzzFeed News. That number has grown quickly, but pales in comparison to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, who have 10.7 million and 8.2 million, respectively.
2) Evan McMullin has a Bachelor of Arts degree and an MBA
His LinkedIn page lists him as graduating from Brigham Young University in 2001, and attaining an MBA from the Wharton School of Business in 2011. Donald Trump also attended Wharton, while Hillary Clinton has a law degree from Yale.
3) Evan McMullin was in the CIA
McMullins LinkedIn page lists him as spending 11 years in the service:
Managed clandestine operations related to counterterrorism, counterinsurgency, energy, political stability, and counterintelligence, while serving mostly in hostile environments.
McMullin worked for Goldman Sachs in the past, and also as a staffer for Congress.
He defended the Khan family unlike Republican candidate Donald Trump.
Why is McMullin doing this?
He has less of a chance to win than Green party candidate Jill Stein.
Not even conservative Ted Cruz stands a chance at this point in the race. Its Trumps to lose.
H/T: Twitchy
Probably correct. It is better for them to vote for this unknown than for Hillary.
“Hes got ties to the Bush/Saudi team (CIA), the Clinton/Cruz team (Goldman Sachs), and the Romney/Salt Lake mob (Mormon). Cant get much dirtier than that.
I suppose that this will be a good case study.”
The Romney/Beck/Cruz wing of the GOPE
A Mitt Mormon clone?
Just what we need - a Mitt retread in November.
McMullin is CFR too! He’s the perfect GOPE/DNC candidate. Right there with his pal Grover Norquist.

Evan McMullin - the jokes literally write themselves.
He has zero chance to win in November.
Except that would be genius. Because it’s Tyrion, and the yankees would win every world series for years.
He’d be great running down those fly balls.
At the plate, though, he might get a lot of walks.
Is he “Conservative” along the lines of Mark [I buy my gold from ______] Levin, George Will, Hugh Hewitt, Michael Medved, etal. If he is, I want no part of him. We have been betrayed and sold down the river by those and others of their ilk until our Republic is almost totally destroyed.
Time for Ted to come out and corral the yahoos who are dead Enders and hangers on
BYU. Another Mormon. This has Willard written all over it.
That POS Ryan is well on board with this too. The House Policy Director would have deep ties to the SOTH. Ryan could have nipped this in the butt very easily, but his master Willard is behind this and so is Ryan.
Another Mormon — isn’t the Mormon religion shooting itself in the foot on this one? They need to have a ‘come to Jesus meeting’ with Willard and tell him that long-term this is really stupid.
Utah’s easily doable. 1000 signatures by August 15. The Mormon church could do that in 15 minutes. Idaho should be another easy one. They’ll need to get busy in Colorado unless they hit the Stakes on Sunday. Arizona is probably doable, but they need to get busy. They probably can’t get California unless they own a judge that will throw out the rules. Texas, Florida and Georgia should also be off the table for them.
Who?!
I really can’t see this affecting anyone who isn’t already anti-Trump and polling that way.
I can’t see pro-Trump or pro-Hillary voters saying that they’ve finally found their alternative candidate in McMullin

Exactly.
Not a household name is he?
And he’s accomplished absolutely nothing.
Not a household name is he?
And hes accomplished absolutely nothing.
Nothing that we, the people know of. Which in a sense, is meaningless, since the kind of things an individual with his particular pedigree would likely accomplish would likewise be the sort of thing that the ones who pull his strings would not wish for us to know at all. What was it that Donald Rumsfeld once said, "Absence of evidence does not equate to evidence of absence."
the infowarrior
He is not conservative. He is a Clinton stooge.
He has no qualifications for the presidency. He is not acting on his own. He is CFR and a Muslim supporter. He is a Washington DC Republican Party staffer. No one knows what his actual responsibilities within the Republican Party are.
Find out who is paying him.
