A new candidate has tossed his hat in the ring for president.
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough has the details…

Who is Evan McMullin?
From Independent Journal Review:
1) Evan McMullin, who is 40 years old, had a minimal public profile before announcing
McMullin had just 135 Twitter followers when the story broke, according to BuzzFeed News. That number has grown quickly, but pales in comparison to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, who have 10.7 million and 8.2 million, respectively.
2) Evan McMullin has a Bachelor of Arts degree and an MBA
His LinkedIn page lists him as graduating from Brigham Young University in 2001, and attaining an MBA from the Wharton School of Business in 2011. Donald Trump also attended Wharton, while Hillary Clinton has a law degree from Yale.
3) Evan McMullin was in the CIA
McMullin’s LinkedIn page lists him as spending 11 years in the service:
“Managed clandestine operations related to counterterrorism, counterinsurgency, energy, political stability, and counterintelligence, while serving mostly in hostile environments.”
McMullin worked for Goldman Sachs in the past, and also as a staffer for Congress.
He defended the Khan family unlike Republican candidate Donald Trump.
Why is McMullin doing this?
He has less of a chance to win than Green party candidate Jill Stein.
Not even conservative Ted Cruz stands a chance at this point in the race. It’s Trump’s to lose.

If he can get on the ballot in Utah, and perhaps Arizona, he might draw enough votes away from Trump to open the way for Hillary to win those states.

The writer is a master of understatement. I bet I could walk around all day asking people who Evan McMullin is, and I would be the only one to know, and only because I read about him in this post. So this is their alternative to Trump-- basically a warm body?
Now lets see who backs him.
Any so-called conservative media person that does might as well kiss their careers and their mansions goodbye because they are going to be broke and forgotten.

And on the same news cycle that George Bush Jr tells the #nevertrumpers to get over it?
He’s got ties to the Bush/Saudi team (CIA), the Clinton/Cruz team (Goldman Sachs), and the Romney/Salt Lake mob (Mormon). Can’t get much dirtier than that.
I suppose that this will be a good case study.
And overseas, “nobody” will mistrust an ACTUAL CIA member as president?

I don’t think that there really is a state, including Utah, where anyway wants to just throw their vote away.
I don’t know when the ballot deadline is in Utah, but odds are they are looking at write-in access. I don’t know Utah’s rules on that either, but it is a losing game.
Anything that anyone could possibly want from McMullin, including a Hillary victory, simply isn’t going to happen.
There is not one single person with even the tiniest piece of brain remaining who can argue that this is getting people other than those who ALREADY are #nevertrumpers.
IOW, it doesn’t affect Trump at all. #nevertrumpers already are polling against him.
Before everyone completely goes off the rails, here in Utah, there is a media figure that is widely regarded and trusted (no, not Beck).
