A 26-year-old man is in a serious condition after being stabbed in the arms and legs.
Police said the man drove himself five miles to hospital following the attack.
Unconfirmed reports suggest there is a bullet hole in the vehicle he drove in.

The city center is awash in new, high rent student apartments, which are effectively property (council) tax exempt.
A multitude of "lone wolf" attacks can have the same cumulative effect as a big assault.
That's a long time for someone stabbed in the arms and legs. But probably a lot quicker way to get into the ER instead of waiting on an ambulance then being put on hold in the parking lot....

Yes, Google maps shows a 14 to 16 minute drive and the Liverpool ambulances don't respond as quickly as our local AZ services. From NW Ambulance services -
We aim to respond to red 1 and 2 calls within 8 minutes in 75 per cent of cases and 19 minutes in 95 per cent of cases. This is a national target.
Driving was probably better as long as you stay alive enough to make it...:^)
Note that the response times are a "national target" but you would think that a large, densely populated city could do better.
