An American woman was killed and five other people injured in a stabbing attack in London’s Russell Square by a Norwegian man of Somali origin who was arrested after the incident, authorities said.
"So far we have found no evidence of radicalization or anything that would suggest the man in our custody was motivated by terrorism," Rowley said.
He said the woman who died was a 60-year-old American, and the five injured people are British, American, Israeli and Australian. None had life-threatening injuries. Two remain in a hospital, while three others have been discharged.

How can one be “motivated (to kill) by terrorism?” That is the method. That’s like saying he killed because he was motivated by murder.

Russell Park is very close to the British Museum (wonderful place) and the surrounding area is packed with hotels, B&Bs, various art institutes, quaint shops, and restaurants. Packed with overseas tourists - especially this time of year.
The murderer probably picked it precisely because it was an area of London known to have a lot of tourists. Like shooting...er, stabbing fish in a barrel, metaphorically speaking.

I’m surprised they didn’t just call him a Norwegian and leave it to us to find out about his Somali origins.
News reports say his family has been in the UK since he was five. Might have been born in Norway and have never seen the Horn of Africa. So much for gratitude.
