A sudden attack can wipe out a single base, and especially on a tiny island like Guam.

Besides, Guam is at capacity and is likely to tip over if we put anything more there.

Japan’s not really in a position to dwell on the past.

The problem is that Japs have never dwelt on the past nor do they feel any guilt about their extensive war crimes.

That is a problem, but then forcing a sense of eternal cultural guilt that leads to nation suicide, as in German is also ANOTHER problem as well.

Yes, I agree. But the japs are still at square zero in this regard.
