I agree with the point, although not quite in the way the author intends. Certainly it was not "senseless", it was a perfectly logical extension of jihad. People who labeled it "senseless" were attempting to avoid that point.

Unfortunately for the "Islam is a religion of peace" crowd, the attack only makes sense if you admit to yourself that they're killing us as an act of war, and come to the obvious conclusion that we ought to be treating it accordingly. Best of luck extracting that admission from the current administration or its media backers.
