WASHINGTON In a remarkable and lengthy rebuke of his partys nominee, Senator John McCain sharply criticized Donald J. Trumps comments about the family of a fallen Muslim Army captain, saying, While our party has bestowed upon him the nomination, it is not accompanied by unfettered license to defame those who are the best among us.
Mr. McCain, a war hero whose service and capture in Vietnam was also once derided by Mr. Trump, had stayed largely silent over the weekend as Mr. Trumps feud with the parents of Capt. Humayun Khan brewed, waiting until Monday morning to release a prepared statement.
In recent days, Donald Trump disparaged a fallen soldiers parents, he wrote of the parents, Khizr and Ghazala Khan. He has suggested that the likes of their son should not be allowed in the United States to say nothing of entering its service. I cannot emphasize enough how deeply I disagree with Mr. Trumps statement. I hope Americans understand that the remarks do not represent the views of our Republican Party, its officers or candidates.

How much does McCain get from the Clinton foundation?
Globalistas - Establishment Democrats and Republicans who disapprove of American exceptionalism.
John Mcshiite
His dad was a Washington insider. He ran the Naval Personnel system, so he knew all the dirt on everyone.
Loser One is back.
Expect Loser Two (Romney) comments any day now...
Cantor you weasel AZ !
McCain has always been known for fragging republicans. If he keeps it up against Trump, Trump should go to Ariz and campaign for McCains primary opponent
Makes sense.
i believe he also voted to increase TRICARE costs for retirees.
I hate this guy!!!! he’s living a comfy life with his wifes $$ and does not give a damn about anybody else.
Trumps comments were idiotic as Hillary’s comments to the Benghazi parents..
He needs to quit giving the Democrats free ammunition, quit insulting US military personnel, and focus on the economy for once.
So a soldier who was a Muslim was killed, does that mean we are suppose to let all Muslim's in the nation?
McCain is an old, demented idiot.
As of December 2015, there were 5,896 self-identified Mohammedans serving in a U.S. Armed Force of 2,140,046, including active, guard, and reserve. That amounts to 5,896 / 2,140,046 = 0.0028, or 0.28%.
In 2015, there were about 3.3 million Mohammedans living in the U.S., or approximately 1% of the population.
So, one could say the Mohammedans are 3.6 times *underrepresented* in our fighting forces. However, the fewer the better, because they stand on tables at military processing centers and shoot up their fellow soldiers, or roll grenades into their commanding officers’ tents, or butcher police officers from ambush positions.
F’ all the Mohammedans and their families. Not only should there be a complete ban on Mohammedan immigration, *none* should be allowed to serve in the U.S. military.
CNN is running 24 hour hit marathons on Trump over this. Much of it features McCain.
War Hero:
Audie Leon Murphy (20 June 1925 28 May 1971) was one of the most decorated American combat soldiers of World War II, receiving every military combat award for valor available from the U.S. Army, as well as French and Belgian awards for heroism. Murphy received the Medal of Honor for valor demonstrated at the age of 19 for single-handedly holding off an entire company of German soldiers for an hour at the Colmar Pocket in France in January 1945, then leading a successful counterattack while wounded and out of ammunition.
War Hero:
Edward Vernon Rickenbacker (October 8, 1890 July 23, 1973) was an American fighter ace in World War I and Medal of Honor recipient. With 26 aerial victories, he was America’s most successful fighter ace in the war. He was also a race car driver and automotive designer, a government consultant in military matters and a pioneer in air transportation, particularly as the longtime head of Eastern Air Lines.
War Zero:
John McCain
At the first sight of the enemy, McCain ditched his aircraft into what he believed was friendly territory. But being the consummate idiot that he is, he dropped in on the VC side. Where he begged for mercy and used his family connections to stay alive, at any price. How this loser is considered a war hero is beyond me.
Why is the GOP committing suicide?
Sorry, Juan. Your opinion no longer matters.
mccain has played his Veteran card too often. STFU LOSER!
I don’t care if John McCain was America’s answer to Napoleon - and he far from it. He is a nasty, self-serving useless waste of protoplasm whose damage he has wrought in the Congress FAR eclipses any positives in service.
