I don’t think Trump said anything that Mr.Khan was responding to directly. That’s just it.
He made vague responsive comments that were based on what he’s either been told, or perceives Trump to be guilty of.
Trump doesn’t want to expel all Muslims — so why the comments about “liberty” and “equal protection under the law”?
Mr. Khan’s a lawyer. He knows how to distinguish between legal & illegal people.
It’s like a bad mixed metaphor. He reacted as a Muslim, but seemed to be defending illegals who aren’t Muslim.
Plus invoking his son’s death at the hands of radical Muslims, as somehow being Trump’s burden to carry for not being sorry enough, at his loss.
