Yes, Italians. My Grandparents were first generation, came through Ellis Island 1910 or so as youngsters. My Grandfather was a Tailor, made fine suits for plenty of Hollywood types in the 1930 - 40’s
All of my grandparents came circa the same time. As kids.
They all lived around Carroll street in Brooklyn.
I never heard anyone mention a curfew. Wow.
I know a lot of them, including pop, fought in WWII. Nobody gave a second thought that Italy was one of the enemies.
