Judge strikes down Wisconsin voter ID, early voting laws

Finding that Republican lawmakers had discriminated against minorities, a federal judge Friday struck down parts of Wisconsin's voter ID law, limits on early voting and prohibitions on allowing people to vote early at multiple sites.

With the presidential election less than four months away, GOP Attorney General Brad Schimel said he plans to appeal the sweeping decision by U.S. District Court Judge James Peterson.

Peterson also turned back other election laws Republicans have put in place in recent years.

First Texas, then North Carolina and Wisconsin.

Peterson found that aspect of the law is unconstitutional, ruling that expired student IDs can be used at the polls

A lot of this is about college student voting fraud. The minority ID thing is also about fraud, but home town and college town dual voting is probably more prevalent.

Two parents who lived in Virginia and Maryland, fraudulently registered their children for a good school in DC saying that they lived in DC (they only worked a short distance from the school).

Finally got caught and fined over $500,000 in restitution and triple penalty fines.

In theory they caught have voted in DC too.

I once helped chase a drug dealer through several addresses in one state (we had the phone numbers, addresses and names of his stash/safehouses, got them from people who knew him and who he had threatened to kill over something else). We chased him out of Virginia into Maryland and then had him captured back in VA. Extradited to Penn. for an outstanding jail-time warrant. Ended his career.

Did the same to another street punk who was moving from girlfriend to girlfriend and staying with them.

A lot of potential voters are essential housing vagrants, criminals on the run, etc. They have more fake ids then Carter had liver pills.

In the “hood”, lots of welfare cheat “baby daddies” move from woman to woman, but they can vote by providing evidence of living at one address (a paid gas bill will do).

How many illegals have ids that are valid for voting? Nobody has yet to answer this question.

How many older folk don’t have valid ids for voting? Of these, how many were able to get legitimate ids with the help of local officials? Nobody has given out the figures for this either.

Then, how many people were not able to get legitimate ids and for what reasons? I have yet to see any reliable figures, if any, on the extent of this problem.

Most of these judges are full of crap. Let’s see some evidence of proveable “discrimination”. Then we can correct it. So far, I haven’t see any example of this other than urban/suburban/rural claimed cases.

As the late Clara Peller would say, “Where’s the discrimination”? I would also ask, in balance, “where’s the fraud”?

I see there’s going to be plenty of “D” districts with 110% + voter turnout.

The fix is in. Willing to screw over their own party and rig elections why wouldn’t they do that in the general.

(yes I know its been going on for a while.)

Its my only concern about Trump not winning it; the fraud.

Oh, what sort of last minute lie will the rats concoct this election? The type that can swing an election but will be proven false after its over?

I just hope there will be enough real people voting for Trump to overcome the Dem fraud.

Why do not the stewards of the law tell these damned judges to go to hell?

Vote fraud and the firm belief that minorities are either too stupid or too lazy to get an ID.

If this goes to scotus, I think we know it willbe deadlocked. This is probably the main reason Scalia was knocked off.

They weren’t subtle about it in 2008 either.

Some FReeper (I wish I’d bookmarked the thread) posted pictures of the Busloads of Chicago Bears fans in Sheboygan (!) voting, registering at the same time. Some were complaining (loudly) the registration process was taking too long and they had to get back to Chicago!

Check out the voter participation percentage in Sheboygan. The media made no mention of the incongruities.

” One ballot per legally registered voter...So, what’s the problem?”

Everyone votes on election day. It takes effort to be an informed voter, it should take effort to vote. Oh, and dip your finger in purple ink after casting your ballot.

I believe Iraq’s free election 10 years ago was less corrupt than any election in this country in the last 30 years.

Given the late date and the questionable legal reasoning, I think they will probably request an En Bank review of the courts decision.

A judge declaring it illegal for voters to have to prove they are in fact the people voting and that they are real people voting - and apparently, it is illegal for “early voting” to not be allowed even though this doesn’t actually have to exist at all.

Rulings like this are not only unconstitutional, but anti-constitutional. This judge not only should not have been giving the prestigious title of a U.S. District judge, it doesn’t appear he has the legal intellect to have ever been admitted to the bar to begin with.

Crap. I had forgotten about Texas.

Obama ignores court rulings he doesn’t like.
I wish Greg Abbott would do the same.
