Last weekend Cruz was in Georgia campaigning for a candidate for the GA House District 3 (south of Atlanta) and on Tuesday the candidate lost. Why would anyone invite Cruz to campaign for him after what Cruz did at the convention.

Some people have an inability to read the tea leaves, feel how the wind is blowing, etc....they end up going down with the ship...
Cruz supporters like the candidate you mentioned, Beck, Levin, Krystol, et al. are such individuals.
Even Romney seems to finally be warming to Trump altho I am still skeptical and if true, I am sure it is just to save his sorry rump.
