The quote as shown leaves out the beginning of Pence’s sentence; it appears the word, “IF” was edited out.) Additionally a significant qualifier; the word “believe” was left out of the quotation.
While I wish Pence had been a little more artful in his reply, what he said was: “(IF) we appoint strict constructionists to the Supreme Court of the U.S.; as Donald Trump intends to do, I BELIEVE Roe vs. Wade will be consigned to the ash heap of history where it belongs.”

Trump said something like “we’ll look at overturning Roe v. Wade”, he said something like that. It is an issue that can’t be avoided. Myself? I’m content with fighting and winning often minor battles. But I’m not critical of someone saying they want to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Everyone should just chill. Trump’s candidacy isn’t going to implode because of this ill-advised comment. Trump will find a way to neutralize the problem probably by reframing the context. Both Trump and Pence will have to rethink how to handle these questions on RvW especially during the debate where they are both going to get hammered big time on this issue. They need to come up with a plan. And they will.

Of course it will be if Trump puts the right people on the court. Trump has basically said that. He said that the most pro-life thing he’ll do is put pro-life judges on the court. He’s not putting them on there to do nothing. I’m disappointed by the reaction on here. The Democrats already know we want it overturned. The Democrats are 100% open that they want to continue to kill unborn children, and they are 100% open about making sure Roe vs. Wade stays law. Hillary said it tonight. Why are we ashamed? Why do we cower to them on this? We’re in the right for God’s sake. There are 1.3 million unborn children killed a year, and people are wringing their hands because the man says they will end some of it? Sheesh. This is from someone who didn’t even want Pence as VP pick.
Even if Conservative Justices are appointed, Roe v Wade will never be undone.
Those same Conservative Justices would rule for restrictions on Abortion (late term, viability, requiring Doctors to have Hospital Privileges, etc.) that the Liberals always oppose, but Abortion supported by Federal Law is here to stay.
The question was a setup and Mike Pence fell for it. He just gave the Rats a BIG HANGING CURVEBALL to use against Trump. Back Alleys and Wire Hangers here we come.

If a case to repeal Roe v. Wade ever does reach the Supreme Court and if it is struck down then it’ll likely be on a vote of 5 to 3 or 4 to 3.
LA Times manufactures its own hatred toward the truth. Pence probably said this a while back, and he is not prone to cater to other people’s fears.
It’s one sure way to drive the left apoplectic, though: state the truth.
I’ll bet this was part of a plan to say. They do have some strategy.
I don’t think we should run from this. I think there is a powerful case to be made to paint hillary as the ultimate cold, evil, heartless person who supports the late term dismemberment of viable babies. Put it out there in stark graphic terms to the average person who may not know what an awful horrific act of violence it is.
