It is good to see that many forum posters grasp the fact that these people are only actors. The real tragedy being we are supposed to worship their opinions because we like their acting skill. We all know acting skill makes one a military, foreign affairs, economic and political genius! /s/

Most healthy growing and expanding societies have even formally excluded them; i.e. 16th century London would not allow actors and actresses to stay in the city over night. The Roman scorned them and refused them citizenship etc.
