It was a scheme designed to offer Syrian refugees a new life in Scotland, away from the horrors of their war-ravaged homeland.
But some of the first to be given sanctuary in Rothesay eight months ago have spoken of their unhappiness on Bute, saying it is ‘full of old people’ and a place ‘where people come to die’.
Argyll and Bute Council was among 16 Scottish local authorities to sign up for the initiative, with the first 100 Syrian refugees flown to the UK and on to Scotland in November last year. But Abd, who had been making trips to Glasgow to find work, said: ‘I didn’t expect to come to this island. We thought we were going to London or Manchester. But whenever we say anything about moving off the island, we are told “We had to pay a lot of money to bring you here”. ‘I feel like it’s an obligatory residence. I feel humiliated. I didn’t come here for anyone to control me.

This is the stupidest thing we can be doing with these people.
They need to go back to their familiar homeland and fight for it.
Sounds like the place they should send all refugees. If an island that the locals call “home” isn’t good enough, then perhaps, they’re not really refugees fleeing war. Even a liberal would understand that one (conservatives figured it out when it was athletic military-age men only, without families).

Make their lives as miserable as possible then ship them back to Syria with such horror stories that will make the ones in Syria prefer to remain in the war zone.

Sure, the top priority has to be entertaining the muslims in exciting muslim cities. Sending them to boring places full of infidels is inhumane and racist, worse than a civil war.
