Anthony Weiner has sworn he would come back into politics if Donald Trump Jr ever ran for New York mayor - a pledge met with an acerbic tweet on Trump Jr's part.
The former congressman is currently in Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention. He flew there hours after calling the elder Trump a 'xenophobic, narcissistic, racist anti-Semite' on Stephen Colbert's Late Show.
Weiner ended his political career after losing his seat at the US House Of Representative and the 2013 New York mayoral election to two sexting scandals.
But the former congressman, whose wife Huma Abeddin is one of Hillary Clinton's closest advisers, pledged on Tuesday on Fox 5 that he could make a political comeback if Trump Jr decided to run for New York mayor.

Agreeing to marry a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, a group that wants Jews gone and the historic Jewish homeland not to be the historic Jewish homeland. Weiner used to understand the importance of a strong Israel to the world, until he got hitched to Huma Abedin.
He, of course, is not Jewish according to Jewish law, because only his father is Jewish. Does anyone know what he considers himself? Since his wife is a devout Muslim, the daughter and sister of Muslim Brotherhood leaders, so must the kid be.
Since he proved to be a disappointing member of the tribe, maybe he is trying to convince himself he still has a member.
He must not be much of a Jew or too smart of a Jew if he was clueless enough not to understand why he was lured into that marriage, apparently by the Clintons, who officiated at his wedding.
