Just when it appeared that public interest was fading, celebrity developer Donald Trump has revived the theory that President Barack Obama was born overseas and helped expose the depth to which the notion has taken roota New York Times poll Thursday found that a plurality of Republicans believe it.
If you havent been trolling the fever swamps of online conspiracy sites or opening those emails from Uncle Larry, you may well wonder: Where did this idea come from? Who started it? And is there a grain of truth there?
The answer lies in Democratic, not Republican politics, and in the bitter, exhausting spring of 2008.
Well, that's ONE WAY of looking at birtherism. How about that pesky Selective Service registration, for example?
Politico = Salon. I now ignore them both.
What has always puzzled me is how did the Obama birth announcement from Thursday night get into the next Sunday morning Honolulu newspaper so quickly. Even if born in Honolulu, wouldn’t it have been at least a week’s wait before the announcement appeared? If called in from Kenya, wouldn’t that have been expensive and difficult to make connection in 1961?
How do you know his real birth date?
I remember a number of Cruz supporters, no longer here, who loved to use that term in an abusive way: birthers.
Does not matter where he was born, foreign national father was enough to disqualify him.
If we had anybody who cared about the Constitution in our government......

Check out article and # 2 .
Thanks, Fractal Trader. In bummer's own words, he stated he was born in Kenya. IMO, he was born in Canada.

There is strong evidence that the microfilm was manipulated and placed into certain key locations such as the UH library and the Library of Congress. You can find something about this at https://myveryownpointofview.wordpress.com/ , which is written by a Freeper who actually went to the LOC and discussed the strange shenanigans with the staff and provided fairly conclusive proof that the microfilm had been tampered with in an obvious way.
There have been a number of lawsuits filed regarding Obama’s birth status.
None have gained any traction in court.
But the very very first such lawsuit, was filed by a Democrat activist named Philip Berg. His lawsuit was filed on the eve of the 2008 Democrat convention.
I’ve always wondered about this. Philip Berg being a good Democrat, why would he have wanted to set up a s%*^ storm on the eve of his party’s nominating convention that year? If his lawsuit had gone anywhere, it would have upset the applecart.
I have yet to hear anyone in the mainstream media talk about Philip Berg, or talk to him, or ask him why, he being a good Democrat, would file a lawsuit over Obama’s birth.
If you look at Berg’s lawsuit, I think you will find that it focused on Obama’s failure to be a “Natural Born Citizen,” due to a non-citizen parent, not due to Obama’s alleged foreign birth.
That’s because birthers are kooks.
Then you must think Article II of the US Constitution is “kooky”,
along with your fellow Cruzlims and the Obama apologists.
There used to be a nice list of archived posts here on Phil Berg because he was involved in an earlier kook conspiracy festival, long before Obama was on the radar, and unrelated to the birther controversy.
I don’t know if we can search back far enough to refresh my memory but it was the main reason I was suspicious of the birther thing. The other reason was because a guy we were already familiar with here for being few pallets short of a truckload , Pat Lang, was hard selling the rumor too. In my opinion Obama simply claimed foreign birth to gain an advantage in college, like his pal Fauxcahontas claimed to be Cherokee, and it stuck.
Here’s a news flash for you, Piasa: Cruz was born in Canada. His pappy was a Cuban. Mom renounced her American citizenship.
Three strikes, you’re out.
Good riddance to that scoundrel.
Grandparents do it all the time in our small town to announce the birth of a new grandchild born to distant children.
Here’s something to think about. You cannot go to HI and visit the house/landmark/tourist attraction where Stanley Ann Dunham was living when she gave birth to Little Barry. You can’t find a pic of it online.
Why is that, do you think?
Who was his actual father? Stanley Dunham was less than virtuous judging from her “modeling” photo shoots.
