How do we explain the birth announcement for August 1961 in the Honolulu newspaper.

Newspaper birth announcements are not official notices or based on official documents.

They are more akin to social announcements like weddings, debutante coming out parties, who enlisted in the service, etc.

Especially in that era.

A relative or anyone else could simply provide the information to the newspaper.

A newspaper announcement of a birth contained what the originator wanted it to say.

Actually, they are based on official documents. Get over it. He was born in Hawaii.
