Newspaper birth announcements are submitted by the family, there's no official documentation or government office involved.
All they had to do was lie.
Hawaii allowed anyone to print a birth notice, as does any state. The veracity of that notice is a completely different matter. This printing from someone who was a US citizen looped Obama in on a technicality, while he was actually birthed by a US citizen, elsewhere. It would have simplified paperwork, if the birth notice could be used as "proof."
It was like getting in under the wire.

I believe it was reported at the hospital as a home birth. Unless someone followed up on it Obie could have been any age. It is a way to get around immigration, probably thought up by his grandmother.
Newspaper birth announcements are not official notices or based on official documents.
They are more akin to social announcements like weddings, debutante coming out parties, who enlisted in the service, etc.
Especially in that era.
A relative or anyone else could simply provide the information to the newspaper.
A newspaper announcement of a birth contained what the originator wanted it to say.

Because they are not official press releases; they are merely announcement the anyone, usually family, asks the paper to run. The fact there was one says something is fishy and his mother wanted people to think he was born in the US. People didn’t usually do birth announcements.

First place, I don't see a date in the article--it says more than a year before Senior went to Hawaii. Senior went to Hawaii in the fall of 1959 which would put the date into 1958.
That doesn't foot with either the age of Barry in the White House or of the son depicted as the dark boy with Ruth and Senior in Kenya in 1965 or for that matter the picture of the older version of the dark boy with Senior depicted in the picture on Sara's wall.
So one will want to see exactly what the birth certificate does say.
The continuing thesis has been that there was a Barrack H. Obama Jr. born in Kenya to Senior and Julianna (the Anna Tout of Senior's letters to the village). His name was given to a second boy born elsewhere, also outside the US.
Whatever the ultimate outcome, the result is now not likely to be a Constitutional Crisis in the sense of control of the Government. The expectation is that a real investigation of the facts will disclose that the occupant of the White House known as Barry is not the true Barack H. Obama and that he was born elsewhere under circumstances where he was not a US Citizen as a result of his birth, whoever he is and whoever his parents were.
Eligibility to hold a public office is different that errors in procedure, elections, ballot counting, etc. in that a person who is not eligible to hold an office does not in fact exercise the office--his acts are void.
Thus we have a wide range of actions by Barry to look at--the two most obvious are the two Supreme Court appointments which require an actual "President" to make. There are some others.

It does answer the question of the birth announcement and the non-USA-birth issued birth certificates from Hawaii as a young state. It was all about bringing in more federal money at the time. So much more was revealed, it is worth watching.

What newspaper? An original copy of the newspaper has yet to be put out there for all to see. What has been put on the internet is a pic of the microfilm of the supposed newspaper announcement. My family owned newspapers during those years so I called bs on it first thing. Simply looking at it, you can easily see the cut and paste (years ago newspaper cut and paste, not today's computer software cut and paste) job that was done on it - black lines around it. Announcements came from not just the Health Dept. and hospital, but also were placed by family members. I also worked in a county clerk's office and filed BCs and know how Health Dept. process them. I've said countless times to find the original hand written index book stored in a warehouse (building burned/building flooded/dog ate it/usurper's attorney Sandy Bergered it/whatever). While it could easily be tampered with, it would still take a few hours so someone would be a witness. Of course, those witnesses are six feet under now. Abercrombie swore to find the BC if elected. It wasn't long after his election that he made some blubbering excuse why he couldn't produce it but that the miracle birth was noted somewhere. Yeah, like that's sufficient evidence for court. FR's own butterdezillion tried to get it but the Hawaii Legislature was so scared they rushed to enacted a new law just for her titled the Vexatious Requestor Bill. There are many other good FReepers who have worked on getting to the bottom of this.
