Although the article is about Laffer's take on the upcoming election, it triggered some thoughts I have on the Laffer Curve if anyone feels like a little analysis. I love the curve but I hate the terminology...

Laffer and Reagan brought us an unprecedented and historic 25 years of growth and prosperity until the Left finally shut it down.

Tax cuts are a must, but we need to flip the reasoning - we need to change the terminology and the paradigm in all of this. Have you noticed that terms and phrases used by the Right and the Left are those engineered by government and parroted by the Leftist MSM? Examples are “supply side” and “revenue”. They are terms and phrases defined and applied solely from the viewpoint of government, not the American individual. Same with judicial opinions since around the 1900’s. You never see a court’s decision anymore based on the interest of the individual citizen but the “public interest” which is nothing other than “government interest.”

So I hate acquiescing to terms like “supply side” and “revenue” in this context because they are terms solely from the viewpoint of government, not the individual. And yet the Constitution, the Law of the Land, and the Declaration of Independence, the values from which the Constitution was derived, is focused primarily on individual interest. America is about protecting the individual, his freedom and interests, NOT about government interest.

“Supply side” says cutting taxes is justifiable because it will actually increase government “supply” and government “revenue”. And although that is true, it is NOT the JUSTIFICATION for cutting taxes. Cutting taxes is justifiable because individuals have the right to their property which includes their earnings. The brain-damaged Leftist government actually think the wages you earn belong to the government. And you have the right to keep your wages only to the extent it can be shown that government somehow benefits. Hogwash. I couldn’t care less about stupid government’s supply. And as far as “revenue” goes, the only revenue that matters is OUR revenue - your revenue and my revenue, not government revenue.

We are smack dab in the center of Orwell’s prophetic “1984”. One of the things I hope this Trump Movement triggers is a focused change in terminology and thinking back to the interests of the individual and away from government self-interest, political correctness, government greed, and government corruption.

God bless you, God bless Trump, and God bless America.

Laffer has been around long enough that he should know and expect the Rats will try every election fraud trick known to man.

Apparently, Laffer isn’t taking into account widespread democrat voter cheating at the polls, which has been a feature of the last two national elections.

Hillary’s voters will all vote twice whenever possible and illegal aliens will each cast as many votes as he/she can.

This can’t be true. The nightly news tells us it’s Hillarys turn, the nightly “comedy” shows tells us she has a 75% chance of winning. And of course, almost ALL large print publications say she will win in a landslide.

I guess it’s time to just give up and not vote at all.

I have noted the two term trend in the past. Since Truman, each party got two presidential terms each. Except for the Reagan era. Reagan beat the weak Jimmy Carter, and his greatness enabled a term for the weak GHW Bush. Reagan was a colossus astride the tide of history. Obama is by no means anywhere near Reagan’s class.

I sure hope so. I’ll be at the polls doing my part. I voted for Cruz in the primaries but I’m not going to sit around and piss and moan about it. I’m going to do everything I can to keep that commie ***** Clintoon out of the White House.

If my memory serves me correctly, Laffer was sure that Romney was going to win in 2012.

Based upon his first term bozo shouldn’t have gotten a second. I believe Trump will win and possibly by a “surprising” amount but I wouldn’t bet my life on it...or even the farm. When bozo got re elected I stopped believing in the America I was born into.

Looking at each state and to what extent it is in play; I believe that Trump will win with over 300 electoral votes. I think Pennsylvania is the key. Trump is doing well there and I think he will take it. With PA, Trump has many paths to victory and Hillary’s paths go up in smoke quickly. Trump could effectively be the winner by the time the Central time states close their polls.

Was watching Fox News this morning, and The Shrew was on there - some sort of townhall with that jack-ape she just picked for VP. I was struck by how clownish they both look and sound - especially this Kaine guy. Truly the Dems have never run a more flawed candidate.

As long as Trump doesn't outclown them, I think he's got a good chance. But anyone that thinks he will "win easily" is deluding themselves. The Democrats have a huge and growing demographic advantage. Republicans start out, by default, at about a 6 point disadvantage.

Another good sign is this Wikileaks thing. That could have some real impact, especially if, as promised, additional leaks are coming.

Arthur Laffer established the now famous “Laffer Curve”.

A representation of the relationship between rates of Taxation and the resulting levels of Government revenue.

Laffer is an economist.

But as any real economist knows, what they are actually studying is human nature.

The meat is in the middle, and Trump has captured that part of the curve.

The current demographics and effects of generations of a leftist educational system preclude any landslide. 2016 is very different than 1980. California and multiple other high electoral states that Reagan won are not close to in play. If Trump wins it will not be by a lot.

As much as I’do like to believe Mr Laffer’s proclamation, there’s an army of Democrats programming electronic voting macines in cities across the nation with reinforcements filling out paper ballots to be manually counted when we realize the voting machines have been tampered with.
It’ll be a miracle if Trump wins in November.

That Reagan saga of 1980 seems a lot like the Trump story today.

But, unfortunately, demographics have changed markedly in the Demorats' favor in in the past 36 years. I'm not predicting a Trump loss, I just don't think the Reagan example applies much to the present.

In the 8th grade I knew Reagan was going to be a great president and he was. Trump has that out of the establishment vibe that Reagan did but none of the values. I wish with all my heart Trump turns into Reagan....not holding my breath nor are they my expectations.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! Especially about reducing the tax burden as primarily a matter of principle not practicality.
