Protestant Theologian: ‘Radical Bible Groups’ A Bigger Threat To Teens Than Islamism
Breitbart ^ | July 22, 2016 | Victoria Friedman

Posted on 07/23/2016 9:20:14 AM PDT by Mr. Mojo

A German protestant theologian said that ‘radical’ bible groups are a bigger radicalisation threat to adolescents than Islamists, and downplayed the number of minors who have converted and left Germany to fight for Islamic State. Harald Lamprecht, Christian theologian and sect commissioner for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony, in an interview with Der Morgenpost claims that “radical bible groups” are more of a risk to the youths of Saxony than Islamism.

During the interview, in which the theologian was asked to advise parents of how to look out for signs of Islamic radicalisation, he told parents “not to panic” and advised them, rather, to be more prepared to keep watch for warning signs of Christian radicalisation:

“As for the threat of Saxon youths, be prepared for radical Bible groups. They are a much bigger problem than Islamists.”

Radical Christian at least will not unpredictably snap and mow down scores of people screaming their god is the greatest.

Or tell people to convert or die, and behead hem when they do not.

Lack of hardship causes jackholes like this to screw up their perspectives and priorities to assess threats accurately.

Christ is the Way, and every other way is not the way. Proof? All over the world you can preach His exclusive claims and send the whole lot into conniptions! Bring up Mohammed, Buddha, Shiva, Minerva, blah blah blah? Not so much.

They are all false and have no true spiritual claim on any human being. The religions that spring up from them are hiding places from the True and Living God and His one and only Son.

That can be a factor too.

It’s maybe the easiest trap in the world for a Christian to fall into. Law involves trying to make yourself look good before God, to ward off a punishment, and is self centered and prone to blindness. Gospel involves yielding yourself to God so that He can make Himself look good in you, and restores your sight. A side effect of Gospel is that you discover how lousy you actually did look — and how much mercy, patience, and grace God extends in the face of that.

Even most “Law Christians” have a better view of God than Islam does, but the grimness level varies.

or a sometimes-understatement.

I’ve seen “Christian” cases go way off the deep end. For something we’d all agree on: How in the world did we ever get such a thing as a KKK with its cross burning that never brought the actual light of the cross into the world, but as it were, tried to burn it in hell?

What the theologin is worried about is that the bible study groups might conclude that Jesus is fully God as well as fully man.

Official German theolgins these days are universally liberal.

That means they think that Jesus is just a man. (So Christians are most to be pitied.)

Oh, that’s interesting. I admit I rarely think of Germany, let alone its Lutheran theologians.

They love muslims and what they do. They are bringing them in to do what they can’t get away with.

To someone who is possessed by Satan, the Bible would indeed be a grave threat.

Any violence by Christians 1000 years ago was only a response to the Islamic invasion of the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. Defense is essential to protect family and friends, and violent some times.

Well, inquisitions also targeted Protestants. Who returned the favor.

It’s those home study bible groups, gangs that have caused the global turmoil.

Probably caused global warming too. S/ 😀

Yeah, because Bible studies sit around trying to figure out new and creative ways of slaughtering large numbers of people in one event.

Sounds like he got that wrong. Just like those who say Islam needs a reformation. ISIS IS their reformation!

Islam through the centuries has drifted away from its fundamentals.

Along come Muslims like Wahhab in the 1700s and Sayeed Qtub in the 1900s who try to get the heretics apostates and infidel collaborators back to what Allah and Muhammad want done- subjugating converting or killing us Kafirs.
ISIS is the most recent example, of getting Islam back to basics. - -Tom

Even if a “Radical Bible Group” isolates teens from their family, (and, admittedly, some aberrant groups do this), the instances of “Radical Bible Groups” actually going out and committing mass-murder are so rare as to be nearly non-existent.

The last mass-murder/suicide by an aberrant “Christian” group could arguably be the Jonestown Massacre, but Jim Jones was actually a Marxist, NOT a Christian, and he abused the Bible.

And that was almost 40 YEARS ago!

Islam is the predominant force in mass-murder these days, and the one or two non-muslem nutcases are the exceptions that prove the rule.

Correct. There was great wrong committed by the crusaders against Protestants and Jews. Overall, however, the crusades were a defensive manuver.

The Saudi royals fund and push Wahhabi ism for a reason ...

No doubt about that.

Mohamed al Wahhab was the religious force alongside the Saudis when they conquered the Arabian peninsular in the 1700s.
Wahabbism became the religion of Saudi Arabia.

Wahhabism is a back to basics interpretation of Islam.
When the Saudis got rich on oil they started spreading Wahhabism around the world including in our country, and they still do it.

However right now I think some of the Wahhabis don't believe the Saudis are fundamental enough, and may want to kill some of the Saudi royal family. -Tom
