I agree with what your writing. The work we id in the 90’s reduced the use of chlorinated solvents drastically, There has been a reduction in the so-called Ozone hole. Naturally ozone is produces by our forests and Ozone although not stable is restored naturally. Maybe if China and Brazil stop destroying forestry things might change.
When we reclaim any refrigerants today, we have strict standards to go by to minimize any “release” into the atmosphere. I will grant there are a very, very few disreputable goons who don’t follow procedures, but the overwhelming majority of us do take pains to ensure initially tight systems before charging and we will seek out any and all leaks in existing systems instead of simply “topping off the tank”, so to speak. The chance of losing my license and my livelihood and the fines and possible jail time is not something I will risk.
It is my understanding that the “ozone hole” fluctuates seasonally and has only been “measured” since the from the ground since the ‘50’s and orbitally since the late ‘70’s.
