I think one of Cruz’s biggest problem is religious pride. He thinks he’s better than everyone else and that God ‘anointed’ him to be president. I think he greatly damaged his 2020 chances last night.
More than that he believes his father’s prophesy that Teddy is destined to be POTUS. That explains his entire behavior.
