Charles Krauthammer said that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) "blew it" at the Republican National Convention with his address in which he did not endorse Donald Trump.
"What Cruz delivered was the longest suicide note in American political history and this morning he added an addendum," said Krauthammer.
Krauthammer weighed in on America's Newsroom this morning after Cruz spoke to Texas delegates (some of them angry), doubling down on his message from last night and going even further.

Well, as Oscar Wilde said, the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about. And people are talking about Ted non-stop. Lots of free publicity.
Ted assumes - oh, he’s oh so sly - that when Trump screws up, people will turn to Ted and say, “you see, Ted was right.” Ted is too clever for his own good, as they say. We’ll see how that turns out.
What DID Trump say about Heidi? He retweeted an ugly picture of her, that’s all I remember.
Longest suicide note in history ... leave it to Dr. K. to come up with a classic like that.
Good analysis.
Cruz's failure to endorse is important for two reasons. First, he pledged to do so. Second, if he didn't want to endorse Trump, he should have declined to speak at the Convention and just remained quiet. Both show his true character.
My main concern is what happens to the Supreme Court. If Trump does nothing else than to seat one or two conservatives (and we’ve seen his list) I will be relieved. The Presidency can be remedied in four years but if Hillary had her chance to seat more far left liberals, that would be a disaster that would last for generations.
Matthew 7:15
New International Version
“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
Cruz is a dead man walking and he just hasn’t realized it yet.
I agree. But were you trying to reply to someone else?
Haha! I love it. The Cruzers always go bonkers when they see the words “The Cubanadian was never eligible to be President”.
Everyone is calming down because of Pence.
If the rumor is true, Pence will be running things while Trump will be fixing what was broken.
I’m a little hopeful Ryan has also committed political suicide too.
I’m going to don the flame suit and suggest something - Palin for HHS.
If she could go in and clean it up while delivering better service, she could make a name for herself.
Christie for Atty General.
Newt at State
Guiliani would be a better AG, but I think he doesn’t mind retirement. FBI chief would be better.
Elsewise, flip the two.
The house cleaning is going to be epic.
Chucky
Bolton for State, Newt for special national security advisor or chief of staff. Otherwise I agree :-)
>ted-cruz-i-wont-be-a-servile-puppy-dog-for-donald-trump
But he will for the Clintons.
Everyone should go to Cruz’s facebook page - he is getting hammered. It’s a beautiful thing to see.
Cruz is raising money.
DID ANYONE NOTICE THE INSULT?
“Enthusiasm of NY Delegation” is an insult at Trump reviving his NY values argument.
Cruz was LAWYERING.
Wait, wasn't he a TEA PARTY favorite? As I've learned through my life, "power corrupts" from the lowliest city council member to the Oval Office. I will never understand the ego that drives people to be politicians, and that includes Trump (who I'm voting for). My mind said, "serve your country", so I joined the Navy. After, I was encouraged to run for local office, but didn't want to lie.
I agree I think that Cruz believes Trump will win but he will be so disorganized and incompetent that he can walk in four years from now and take it away from him in the primary...Cruz is wrong if that is his thinking but that is the only scenario where Cruz can come back politically. if trump loses against Hillary he will be blamed and four years from now her will not have any support.
Best comment so far.
