Ted Cruz cares only about himself and his plan to run for president in 2020

He can plan all he likes, after last night's speech, Cruz won't win a single state primary in the next election. Everyone except his most die-hard supporters are disgusted by how petty and vindictive Cruz turned out to be, including many people who didn't even support Trump in the primaries.

“how petty and vindictive Cruz...”

...showed that he is, with his snide remark to the New York delegation.

He may revile Trump. He demonstrated that revulsion extends to the people at the convention-at least in part.

It is quite literally only the cultists who support him now. Ones who are so lost that they see a messianic figure in this weird misfit of demonstrated instability and sealed records. They are bizarre people, whose existence is rooted in the denial of reality and the embrace of magical thinking.

I doubt that he can even win his re election for senate?
Say good bye to Pac money , many donors won’t support him any more. The GOP won’t finance him either and probably make him go through a rough primary.
I bet he won’t be using “my word is my bond” anymore either?
