CLEVELAND -- Ted Cruz did the Republican Party no favors last night when he pointedly refused to endorse GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, breaking a promise he and other rival candidates made at the outset of the primary campaign last year.

Saw CSPAN talk to many of the Texas delegates afterwards-they were not happy with Ted at all.

Very clever of Trump to give Cruz the rope with which to hang himself.

Cruz became the incredible shrinking man and Trump because the incredible hulk, albeit a gracious one.

Never underestimate Trump! Cruz should know this by now. (btw, Trump timed his arrival perfectly!)

All but Mike Lee, Ken Cuccinelli, and Heidi Cruz...and I’m not sure about Heidi.

Tantrum Teddy didn’t win and he’s a sore loser.
I’ve seen 5 year old kids with more class.

The author wrote: “He saddled Cruz with the undeserved nickname “Lyin’ Ted.”

Last night Cruz proved he deserved the nick name.

My take as well. I have been a Cruz supporter until recently, and last night’s speech finished off what little support i had in me for Ted. Principles or no, he pledged his support for the nominee. I value a man’s word right up until he showed me it’s worthless. Too bad, we need the man he pretended to be.

If Trump had waited Cruz would have been ruthlessly booed from the stage, Trump entrance turned the attention to him and Cruz got off stage. I didn’t even see Cruz get off the stage.

I loved the booing, and the fact he was invited to a millionires party at the convention and then turned away at the door.

PRICELESS

Trump offered a olive branch to allow Cruz a last chance to man up and become a team player - Cruz sharpened the end and poked his own eye out with it.

Maybe the initial cheers were still echoing in his head when the reality of what he had done to himself became evident in the boos. His ego and vanity took him down and demonstrated why Trump cleaned his clock. He wanted to hurt Trump, even with the Nation at stake, and destroyed what was left of himself.

I thought I read rumors Mike Lee told Cruz to endorse Trump.

I might be wrong.

His constant rant of “principles” when compared to his actions only proved he has no principles. It is only a cover for a very dark heart.

Cruz has taken the torch from Ron Paul and will live his life in exile as the kook politician.

The display at the podium last night demonstrated more than anything else that Cruz has no flex in him, which is death to a politician. There are so many ways he could have endorsed Trump without sacrificing his “principles.”

Just one e.g., refer to the very conservative platform and say that he will work with Trump to see that it is honored. That would get his point across and still make him viable for the future.

As it is he immolated his future.
