Yes, this was taught in ALL schools, decades ago. So I am appalled by the abject lack of American historical knowledge by some posters here.

I just watched Reagan’s acceptance speech in ‘80 and holy heck, talk about ‘dark’! There was so much wrong with our nation at that time and he did exactly what Trump did tonight, laid out facts and explained his vision for a stronger and brighter future!

The lack off violence caused by a few things:
- very strong police presence.
-publicity surrounding the fact that open carry is legal in Ohio and would be encountered.
-The bikers who were coming to the convention.
I watched the convention on Newsmax last night - they had their talking heads on (not during Trump’s or Ivanka’s speeches) and thought they were not only very fair, but as much aboard the Trump Train as any media could be. I was heartened to hear several of their guests who have been not for The Donald change to full support for him.
