Most people in the professional side of politics are NOT true believers. They have their job, they do their job, and whether or not they like the candidate and actually want them to win. I know this confuses the true believers who expect it to be more than a job, but in reality it’s a job.
Kinda like a lawyer. You don’t care if your guy is guilty or innocent - you just want to win.
