Cruz is trying to get Hillary elected. That means he most certainly does not champion conservatives ideas and is willing to toss the country away for what he thinks will be his own benefit.
Giving his people encouragement to vote for Republicans down ticket, but not for Trump, only helps Hillary. Giving Hillary excellent fodder to attack Trump with, only helps Hillary. Cruz is batting for the opposite team and has been since Indiana. It doesn’t matter what he says; it matters what he does. He is fighting for a left-wing Supreme Court; he is fighting for open borders; he is fighting for a lax attitude against terrorists; he is fight for more business crippling regulations, etc., etc. Ted Cruz is the enemy.
I hate what Cruz did. I wish he would have done what Reagan did in 1976.
But, at the START of Ted’s speech, people on FR were condemning him when he was saying things that we ALL agree with. That’s what I was reacting to.
Now, to be fair... I’ve learned since that there were multiple media reports leaked ahead of Ted’s speech saying he would NOT endorse. Maybe, people on here were aware of that... And I wasn’t. I definitely would have had a different reaction hearing it, if I’d known where it was going.
