The likely departure of the former aide to Richard Nixon who defied the odds when he launched Fox News 20 years ago could present a big problem for the Murdochs. Three of Fox News biggest stars Bill OReilly, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren have clauses in their contracts that would allow them to depart if Mr Ailes were to leave the network, the two people briefed on the dispute said.
This means a core team of on-air talent could follow Mr Ailes out of the door.
Mr OReilly said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter last year that he had no idea how the network would shake out if he [Roger Ailes] wasnt here...

I’m with you. Seems like all the ppl on FBN or professional, very smart and have integrity. Many of them I’ve been watching from their CNBC days. Never get the drama from them
Oh I hope so.
“This all helps Trump. People were sick of the Bush family and the ruling elites. Theyve helped Trump continue to be the outsider and smasher of the Uniparty. All playing into his hands.
Even the chaos outside helps him. Shows we need a law and order candidate.
The donor class is the problem. They want cheap labor and open borders. They care about their stock portfolio more than America.
But Trump doesnt need them to win.”
This Fox internal mess will put the phoney speech copying non issue into the closet of not really interesting.
We all knew the Murdock boys would ruin FOX. They think their gravy train will roll right on without FOX and it’s viewers. What do you want to bet that they are very rich, spoiled, brats.
This is not my business, thankfully, but it seems strange that people would put that kind of clause in their contract. Like putting it in your Yahoo contract that if Marissa Meyer gets canned, you will leave the company also.
It just seems odd. And unnecessary.
Well there is always One America news
Me too. I watch OAN periodically and although I like it, have always thought it could use a little more "polish". If Ailes takes his talent(s) over there, I think you would see it's growth explode, to the detriment of FOX.
Why would the Murdoch kids want to wreck Fox News?
Their father should put in the will that if Fox News becomes liberal then they are disinherited.
Roger Ailes has always been the odd man out at 21st Century Fox. He has had testy relationships with the younger Murdochs, who are jockeying for the throne when Rupert passes on. They consider him uncouth, arrogant and a braggart—about what you’d expect from a bunch of spoiled brats-turned-senior-execs-in-dad’s-company. They tolerated Ailes as long as he met his ratings and revenue targets, because it added to their own bottom line.
Now, with Ailes facing sexual harassment charges, the younger Murdochs see a chance to get rid of a key adversary, especially if their father’s support is wavering. They believe FNC will motor along just fine without Ailes, not appreciating his skills as an executive, programmer and developer of talent. If Ailes departs, there will be a huge exodus from FNC, led by most of the primetime line-up. As a refugee from the broadcast salt mines, I’ve never heard of so many high-profile hosts who have contract clauses that allow them to leave if Ailes departs.
And if you don’t believe there are plenty of media companies willing to back a new network headed by Ailes, think again. Just a couple of years ago, CBS was in serious talks about some type of content sharing arrangement with FNC. Obviously, the libs at CBS aren’t crazy about Fox’s conservative philosophy and programming, but Les Moonves likes money, and Roger Ailes has done the impossible in TV: he’s taken an upstart news channel that was given no chance at launch and made it into a TV juggernaut—dominating the competition and attracting an audience that is the largest of any cable channel.
FNC delivers $1.5 billion in profit to Fox every year. That is an eye-popping number in a 1000-channel universe and it would allow Ailes to write his own ticket with a wide range of media companies—if he leaves Fox News Channel.
#30 This would be like Top Gear dust up last year except without the punching and Jeremy Clarkson.
Don’t forget Brit twit Pier Morgan in the mix LOL!
I have not had cable for about 6 months now. Amazing how little I miss it; less and less each day.
Megyn Mememe's arrogant and delusional performance at the first GOP debate was the catalyst that was the final straw, when added to disgusting performances of Herraldo, Shepard Smith, smirking Chris Wallace, Bumbling token Juan Williams, and generally the bunch whose expiration date is long past, George Will, Karl Rove, Meghan McCain, Charles Krauthammer, Susan Estrich...
I may have missed a few...
That didn't last long!
Give me the classic definition of professional news.
If I wanted opinion from people dumber and more delusional than me I'd seek my news from "Black Morons Matter" or the "Gay Perversion of the Month..."
Fox news is not our friend. It’s owners support and push globalism.
