Bush: 'I'm worried that I will be the last Republican president'
CNN ^ | 6/19/16 | Erin Bradner

Cleveland (CNN)Former President George W. Bush fretted to a group of former aides and advisers in April that he was worried he could be the "last Republican president."

The 43rd president's remark, at a gathering in Dallas of his administration's staffers, reflected a dim view of the party's prospects at a time when the primary contest was realistically down to Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

...." certainly a much better choice than Al Gore or John Kerry."....

Yup, people seem to forget we have the same choice now. My guy didn't win, Trump won. I have to weigh between Trump and Hillary, there is no other choice. Dubya didn't do everything I wanted, but just imagine Gore or Kerry as POTUS. Dubya was dealt a major blow at the very start of his term and the very end of his term. Hillary couldn't even handle Benghazi. Bush was patriotic and handled himself well, considering. The main complaint I would have would be leaving Rumsfeld in too long. Followed by "comprehensive immigration reform", which is code for no fence and amnesty. Followed by bragging about home ownership being the American dream. The last, of course his administration tried to slow down, but we couldn't stop the bubble that had already formed. It was just a matter of embracing the bubble forming instead of fighting it. When you have illegals with no jobs qualifying to buy homes at basically zero interest, it can't end good. Compared to Reagan, I give 43 a 7 out of 10. Even Reagan had the Marine barracks in Lebanon that was lefty unanswered. He wanted to respond, but Weinberger talked him out of it. I think we are still paying for that today. If you don't respond they will do it again.

Everyone has something that doesn't go well, and I sure Trump will have his share, but we MUST always look at the price to pay if it's Hillary. If Hillary has a perfect time in office with no disasters, Just the fact that she will get at least 2 and maybe more SCOTUS appointments, America is over. $20 trillion in debt, America is over. Taking Muslims into the country, America is over. Global warming, BLM, Putin, 20 hour work weeks, Obamacare, ......., all will kill America if just left where they are today.

No POTUS will ever be 100%, but we always must consider the alternative.

Yeah, Trump 2016. It should be a no brainier even for a Democrat. Maybe in 2020 the conservatives will realize Cruz is the real conservative with Texas values and quit kidding themselves that a conservative New Yorker is not really a conservative. Our best chance now is who surrounds Trump with advice and will he take advice.

For a guy who never said anything bad about Democrats out of some sense of “civility”, he sure is willing to slam non-establishment Republicans.

He was an enemy to this country. He started two wars in the wrong countries to let his Saudi friends off the hook for killing almost 3000 Americans. Thousands more have died or been maimed directly because of his actions. He started the fire in the Middle East and Obama threw gas on it. If there was any justice left in this country he would be tried as a traitor, convicted, and stood up against a wall. He is just as much a traitor as Obama, Hillary, etc.

But yeah, he was a REPUBLICAN. FH.

I don’t think GWB would particularly mind that designation.

Well I’m glad you think a Saudi mole was a good president.

The Saudi ambassador PAID some of the 9/11 terrorists directly. 2 days later he’s smoking cigars with that good president.

“’Dry drunk’ is a slang expression infamously known in the sober community. It describes a person who no longer drinks or abuses drugs, but continues to behave in dysfunctional ways.

Here, here, I couldn't agree more. Reagan was our King Josiah, who was the last good king of Judah. After he died, it took 25 years for Judah to be destroyed.

Reagan left office in 1988. 25 years later, 2013, our nation is experiencing a meltdown of catastrophic proportions.

Anyone else see the correlation?

Little George was indistinguishable from a big-government, warmongering liberal. When he became president co-pays at the Veterans Hospital were $3. When he left they were $8. Services in VA hospitals were discontinued all over the country when Bush was president. The VA became 100% PC under George W. Bush. “Diversity training” started under George W. Bush. Bush’s AIDs Czar was of course a homosexual who had AIDs, who was living with his “partner”. I could go on and on. Yes all this nonsense was accelerated under Obama, but started under a RINO president by the name of George W. Bush.

CNN author accomplished his goal of getting hits and clicks with a misleading headline. They sold lots of advertising based on web traffic. They got conservatives to argue with each other and self implode.

Take a step back. It could all be based on a lie. Like global warming. Secondhand smoke. Hands up don’t shoot.

I didn’t love all of George Bush’s policies. Including amnesty and the “see you at the bill signing” line.

But he is a decent man who loves his country and respects the fact that unlike Turkey, political power is turned over voluntarily every eight years. And he has had the decency to keep his mouth shut out of respect for how hard it is to be president. I don’t believe for a second that he said any of this.

I have been a Republican since 1967 (actually a conservative), I have voted Republican in every election since I voted for Nixon for his first term.I remember sending the RNC a brick and twenty of those 0 peso notes in 2004.
They had to pay the postage, still don’t know how much it cost them.
But never got a mailer from them again (snicker).

In other words they behave the way a good portion of the human race behaves.

Reagan was the last Republican President.

The Bushes were Globalist Presidents.

We hope to have our next REAL Republican President in 6 months, God-willing.

In the early nineties Russell Kirk said oppose vigorously globalism.

Who talked the American people into thinking it was conservatism to support corporatism and globalism?
