Actually there should be a federal law against intentionally blocking federal highways. It should be a health and safety issue. You are blocking the passage of emergency equipment and possible first responders. Stated should pass similar laws.

There used to be signs that denoted “no pedestrians” on them. I don’t recall if they are still prevalent.

The emergency vehicles angle is a red herring, IMO.

Protestors’ rights end where others’ begin. They have no right to detain other citizens on a public road.
