When did blocking a major highway (or even a minor back road) become an act of exercising our right to peaceably assemble? It sure isn't speech, or the press.

My point was the cops did the right thing arresting the protesters.
Protesting is legal - blocking traffic is NOT legal. The police should have been arresting these kids since the first time they stepped in a street to block traffic.

There is a simple way for them to avoid being killed by the police. It is so simple that even a fool can do it. It is, Obey the law. To wit{ Don’t murder other people. Don’t steal from other people. Don’t rob other people. Don’t rape other people.
The White MSM would never allow a bunch of hotheads in their twenties to represent the 'white community'... because they know better. If the press was honest they would randomly choose thirty homes in black communities and speak to the people who live in them about the police. Not a poll - a talk. They might be surprised to discover that the black community is no more represented by BLM than the white kids in that organization represent the white community.
As far as gays are concerned I don't care what adults do in their bedrooms BUT I was totally against gay marriage ( I was for legal domestic contracts etc) I felt gay marriage would weaken traditional marriage and that marriage has been - since the dawn of time - the most stabilizing block of any civilization. We'll see how it works out... since it's the law of the land I'm hoping for the best.
