We want revenge for the wrongs done to us and our family member, but God cautions taking it on ourselves. So in that he promises to avenge our enemies and some are not avenged in our lifetime, part of our hope is God will take care of these kinds of people.
A recent discussion on this subject with my Biblical scholar friends, this quote from God assured his people that he will retaliate in His time. They, the unbelievers, the God deniers will get avenged which proves the verse that every knee shall bow and all will confess.
Certain that all will be raised to give an accounting of their lives in front of God Almighty, the ones that killed Jesus Christ and His disciples, the ones who torture and imprison believers, the ones who mock and scorn believers, the ones who behead and burn Christians today. All will be raised to give an account, and then will be put to death for eternity, not burn in hell, dead, no life with God forever more.
Mat_16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
