At the time the Alaska spokesman first read their votes, he accompanied this with some gratuitous verbiage about how this was their vote—or emphasis to that effect. My immediate thought was that he expected to be overruled. But I don't know if he had any plausible plan for unbinding Trump votes or was just doing this to poke everyone in the eye.
