U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz and U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan are among those speaking to the Texas delegation next week at the Republican National Convention, according to a tentative schedule obtained by The Texas Tribune...

Cruz's speech could be his only public remarks in Cleveland beside his address Wednesday night to all of the convention's delegates...

A spokeswoman said Cruz will not be at the convention Thursday night, meaning he is likely to miss the speech in which his former rival, Donald Trump, accepts the Republican nomination...

I believe you are correct...if she was really asked at all..she was asked to speak at a time she did not feel was respectful of her..and that may have been done by design. Trump’s new staff, it is said, has told him from the time they came on ..Palin is” ver boten”...She will not help him with the election ..rather she would hurt him. And Paul was right.

It is annoying...so annoying I guess that people do not even mention that aside from sounding like a porpoise that has sucked a helium balloon...the content of her speeches match that of a stand up comedian..and not a good one.nor intelligent. I know alot of people really like her and I understand that...but Trump does not need her..She would detract from the campaign rather than adding to it. In my opinion and I know many would disagree with that.

So Ted gets to speak, but he doesn’t stick around for the nomination speech on Thursday night. He must have a “pressing commitment” that he can’t avoid. Even EMK stuck around for Carter’s speech in 1980 but wasn’t too helpful.
It's just as well. All cameras would have been on Cruz during Trump's speech, and Cruz's expressions would have been wildly inappropriate.

Trump: "And my friends, I guarantee, that my administration will make America great again!"

On Thursday, we asked folks not to speculate on a story that was circulating via a blogsite that was very unfriendly to the Palin family. A story regarding Track Palin and the charges that were filed against him last January.

We now have more reliable information.

All charges against Track Palin have been dismissed, save for one alcohol related misdemeanor. That remaining charge has been adjudicated, and pending rehab treatment, that remaining charge will be expunged from his record.

In hindsight, it now seems clear that a private family matter is what guided Governor Palin's decision not to attend the Republican National Convention.

It also is now also very clear that Donald Trump's remarks on Thursday regarding Governor Palin's absence at the RNC was a sincere, if clumsy effort to protect the privacy of Governor Palin and her family.

There is ZERO evidence that the Trump campaign was marginalizing the contributions Governor Palin has made during this campaign on behalf of Donald Trump.

We ask that any further discussion regarding this private family matter be offered with the utmost respect toward Governor Palin, Track, and the entire Palin family.

From the pic here in # 67, Cruz has what looks like drinker’s nose, mottled and red. I’ll bet he tipples with some regularity.

Wouldn’t surprise me. As is typical of narcissists with a Messiah complex, Cruz likely excuses himself from normal morality. Would also explain his zipper problem.

I was expecting him to name his cabinet in the days that followed his selection of Carly. At first, I thought it was arrogance. In retrospect, I think you’re right, it was pretty pathetic.
