(CBS) Indiana Gov. Mike Pence was raised in the Hoosier state, but he says he has a strong, personal connection to Chicago.
WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports from the Loop.
Pence says his grandfather emigrated to the U.S. from Ireland in 1923 and came to Chicago, where he drove a bus for 40 years.

Trump’s comment was no more realistic, win or lose, Kirk is gonna get a higher % of the vote in IL than Trump is. I didn’t appreciate either comment.
He also told Flake (who’s not up for reelection) that he would lose.
Trump should ignore Mark Kirk.
He’s just predicting Flake’s next election performance early. ;-)
Well, he’s very likely wrong. And Flake losing to a rat should be nothing a Republican President would want.
Really, these kind of remarks are not good. I’d like to see him go after some rat Senators and tell them they’re gonna lose. Starting with Michael Bennett.
Flake losing in the primary, of course. McQueeg’s Mini-Me badly needs to go.
Graham is McCain’s mini-me.
He’s got two of ‘em now.
Who should run against Sen. Flake, in the 2018 primary? I hope ex-Gov. Brewer will run.
She raised taxes as Governor and vetoed a religious freedom bill. If the idea is to *improve* upon Flake she’d be a curious choice.
Let’s try and beat McCain this year before we worry about beating a Senator well to his right in 2 years.
FReeper Hildy.
Flake on Twitter: .”@HillaryClinton now belongs in prison? C’mon. We can make the case that she shouldn’t be elected without jumping the shark.”
I may be coming around to your thinking, what a GD stupid tweet. Sign of a serious deficiency in mental faculties. Hillary’s criminality is the one of the most important issues of the campaign.
