(CBS) – Indiana Gov. Mike Pence was raised in the Hoosier state, but he says he has a strong, personal connection to Chicago.
WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports from the Loop.
Pence says his grandfather emigrated to the U.S. from Ireland in 1923 and came to Chicago, where he drove a bus for 40 years.
In a speech to the City Club of Chicago in December 2014, he said his parents grew up on the South Side.

Just heard Pence punt to the courts to solve the religious liberty question when it comes to homosexuality and Christians who own businesses.
Not very inspiring.
Pence is hitting it out of the park. He’s spot on, on all (great) questions Hannity is asking him.
I was a little disappointed that he didn’t explain the badly written bill - on the LGBT bill.
Other than that......excellent.
I am NOW very happy with Pence, although I am STILL angry with him over primary endorsement !!! Since Trump WON Indiana I am starting to forgive him but it is still knawing at me!!!! Cruz was such a creepy candidate and a phony preachery slimball Pence just REALLY annoyed me!!!
I can cut him slack about his Cruz endorsement because to me it seemed he was being pressured/threatened by the Global Elites.
So he reacted with a half-hearted endorsement, by praising DJT and then giving TC his endorsement.
It reminds me of how FBI Comey detailed all HRC’s crimes, and then said he wouldn’t prosecute. It was obvious (to me) that he was also being pressured/threatened by the Global Elites.
These Global Elites pressure, threaten, smear, and kill without blinking. Which politician can survive going up against them? I can think of only one: Our Donald ; )

Pence said Trump was one of the best negotiators in the world and Pence’s stance on TPP wouldn’t hold because Trump would be making the deals. Pence is very confident in Trump’s abilities.
