The President is Islamist. He got elected twice, remains popular, and the Republicans roll-over for him and trash Trump.

I think Islam should be suppressed, restricted and controlled. It shouldn’t be allowed to flourish in western countries. It just doesn’t fit.

In one of the videos the truck was slowly driving on the road that should have been closed to traffic. There were at least half a dozen people chasing after it. Then it began to pick up speed.

That might be what happened. The terrorist's original plan was disrupted because he got onto a closed road and began attracting attention. Then he decided to just run over as many as possible.
I think Kabar was probably right in an earlier post that the driver was to go to some spot and open the truck and distribute the weapons to other terrorists already in place. What a massacre there might have been if such a plan had succeeded.
I hope the investigators are able to uncover the full plan and arrest others who were involved.

It said to rent the heaviest truck you can, preferably a four-wheel-drive. Then find a large public gathering of people standing hear the street, like at a ticket booth for a sporting event. Get the longest run-up you can and crash into the crowd as fast as possible. A heavier truck will penetrate further through the crowd, and 4WD will get better traction so you can continue to drive forward when the street is wet with blood, so keep the accelerator on the floor.

I give up. A report on Fox said the ‘weapons ‘ in back of the truck were replica guns and dummy grenades. If that’s true, who knows what that means, if anything.
Latest on these “weapons” They are now described as toys.

Since we learned late tonight that the weapons were useless I am forced to change views. I initially agreed with your hypothesis. Now I fault the city for not effectively closing the road to traffic, or trucks because this was not done well and I would guess that the driver either decided to mow down people leaving the fireworks show (most started on the beach and moved up to the road) or got on the wrong road and feared that he would be cited for being on a closed road when this was the best chance his jihadist heart would ever get.
I suspect that he made a quick plan to run over folks because his timing was such that a maximum number of the crowd would be on the road. (When the fireworks is over, you grab your now sleeping kid and head for home. )

Let’s be fair. The French did extremely well and fought valiantly in 1914 - 1918. German offensives rarely achieved their objectives due in most part to the tenacity and sacrifice of French defenders. French officers would summarily execute soldiers who fled the battlefield. You can’t get more committed than that.
France had astute leadership but was dealing with a heavy influence of Leftist subterfuge and subversion.

Not sure what the story on the weapons is. This morning Fox has said the truck was “packed with guns and explosives”. Haven’t heard anymore about the weapons being toys. Guess we’ll learn the facts later on today.
Truck was a rental. Parked in area 9 hours before event. Told police they were delivering ice cream.
