NEW YORK (AP) Donald Trump is wildly unpopular among young adults, in particular young people of color, and nearly two-thirds of Americans between the ages of 18 and 30 believe the presumptive Republican nominee is racist.
That's the finding of a new GenForward poll that also found just 19 percent of young people have a favorable opinion of Trump compared to the three-quarters of young adults who hold a dim view of the New York billionaire.
Trump's likely general election opponent, Hillary Clinton, is also unpopular with young people, but not nearly to the same extent as the real estate mogul and realty TV star. A mere 6 percent of young African Americans, 10 percent of young Hispanics, 12 percent of young Asian Americans and 27 percent of young whites see Trump in a favorable light, ratings that suggest the celebrity businessman faces a staggering task this summer to win their backing in his bid for the White House.
"I think if you want to be a moral young person, you can't support Trump," said Miguel Garcia, 20, of Norwalk, California.
The grandson of Mexican immigrants and a college student who also works at a tire shop, Garcia is a registered Democrat who has not chosen a candidate to support this fall but is resolute in his disdain for Trump.
"It's really hard to back anything Trump does," Garcia said. "He just says prejudiced stuff."

When I was growing up and coming of age, free speech was still something that all of us younger people cherished. Especially as we knew back then that many Communist nations including the Soviet Union and China stifled free speech and locked people up (or worse) for not parroting the official party line.
We used to read books like Orwell's "1984" and be smug in our assurance that it could never happen here in the United States.
Sad to say, we are rapidly approaching a totalitarian state as our older generations are going to die off. If our younger generation do not respect or value free speech and just want to shout the rest of us down and brand us as intolerant and racist for having different opinions, then we are not going to have a very good outcome long term.
they’re so dumb half think a “racist” is someone who follows NASCAR
In the ‘92 election (I think) with Ross Perot, I remember being in the California school system and our history teacher asking us who we would vote for. Over 80% of the class said Ross Perot, 2 said George Bush, and the remainder were for Clinton. The class was aghast that even 2 people wanted a Republican. This is what you are dealing with when your polling demographic is under 25.
I got more moderate as I entered college (went to a Christian college) and became a conservative when I got a job and started paying all my own bills.
“Emily Swanson” Naming your kid Emily in the 1990s and 2000s is the equivalent of naming your black hid Shanequa or Lemnanjello. More of the “You’re so great Emily, you are such a terrific wonderful special girl, the world is at your feet my most precious, special savior child I’ll bestow this wonderful name on you to show the world how special you are”. What narcissistic left leaning upper middle class whites do, try and make you kid special by giving them a “Precious” name. I told my 16 year old son, want to find a decent women run from girls named Brittney, Courtney, Tiffany, Emily or April. Trendy names for sluts and idiots
Most millennials are brain-dead, narcissistic twats that can’t find Canada on a map.
“says prejudiced stuff”? and the examples are what DT says about sexual predators and drug trafficking coming from Mexico. So it’s “prejudiced” to make a statement that comes from the results of research rather than feelings.
The truth is false, and feelings are the accepted reality.
We’re done if these kids get their way. Combined with gozillions of immature ignoramuses from my own generation they are pure evil.
Add January and Pandora to your list.
You should add Bill Mayer’s show to young folks news sources.
It's not so much what you don't know that will hurt you, it's what you know that ain't so.
It was conducted by NORC June 14-27. It is based on online and telephone interviews of 1,965 adults age 18-30 who are members of the GenForward panel, which was designed to be representative of the young adult population.
The survey includes interviews with 510 African-Americans, 511 Hispanics, 321 Asian-Americans and 599 non-Hispanic whites. The survey was paid for by the Black Youth Project using grants from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the Ford Foundation.
Thanks for digging into the internals on this fradulant "poll". As noted above it was just AP being All Propaganda Apparatchik Press. Goebbels would be jealous of this ongoing mendacity.
A liar, because there is no way on God's green earth that he would support any Republican.
But you'll see few Trump stickers on any vehicles, as most of us don't want our cars damaged.
say she's a criminal.
1984 and Animal farm have morphed from a warning to a leftist guidebook.
“GenForward?”
_____________
“Forward” is a term commonly associated w/the Communist Party and goes back at least to the era of Joseph Stalin. It was also Obama’s 2012 campaign slogan.
Proof that propaganda works.
Hmm. I’ve watched a lot of trump rallies and there are always many young people there often close to the front trying to get signatures. In fact, I read some time ago that they are referring to all the young guys at his rallies as the Trump Bros
