Got another interesting tid-bit for you to research...why are carrier islands always on the starboard side?

Actually, there were two that had them to port...they were involved in a rather infamous carrier action. Can you name them?

Carryover from clockwise propeller torque favoring leftward bias so keep conning tower away from pilots natural inclination to go left

Two starboard conning tower fitted flat tops were Japs thought to deliver a more expedient carrier group two way coming and going flight tack but proved hard to work to effect especially in combat when simply getting guys airborne or refueled or deck cleared made orderly landing and take off patterns of less import
