Permit or not, a citizen displaying a gun during a traffic stop is stupid, at best, but more likely trying to get shot or shoot someone.

I have heard from some people with CC permits that the thing to do is keep your hands firmly on the wheel and calmly tell the officer there is a gun in the car and where it is. Then follow the officer’s directions.

You keep your hands still and in plain sight and you don’t move much as you tell the cop all about where the gun is and them ask you what they would like you to do. Did this last week when I got my first ticket in over a decade. He said, ‘as long as you don’t point it at me we are cool.’
