Americans urged to 'buy a gun, get trained, carry it always'
Washington Examiner ^ | 7/9/16 | Paul Bedard

Calls for strict gun control following a deadly week in America come despite new statistics that show gun deaths plummeting as sales of firearms soar.

According to the industry's trade group, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, homicides by gun have dropped 43 percent since 1991. Other crime with a gun such as robberies have decreased even more, by 70 percent since 1993.

In a graphic display of the numbers, NSSF also showed that unintentional deaths with a gun have dropped 82 percent.

Along the way, gun sales have soared to 140 million a year.

And 41 percent of Americans say they have a gun in their home.

Exactly. It may even be higher than 20%. No use telling people where they can pick up a gun or two at no cost.

New common sense gun legislation is needed:

Since they have been vetted by State and FBI background checks, CCW owners can have firearms shipped directly to them after sending in a signed 4473 (we can talk about doing away with that later - small steps, small steps.) And, have the ability to buy a handgun in another state.

“What America really needs is ‘OBAMA CONTROL’ as in, get this stupid jerk out of here and get him under control.”

Only 194 days to go before “Blackout!” This will help you keep track!

An armed society is a polite, well behaved society.

Our Congress failed us. They should have eliminated the problem already, but they have been compromised, and are on the dark side as well. They haven’t any excuses for not doing what we elected them to do.

The ONLY reasonable explanation I can see is that the REPUBS are letting the DEMONCRATS hang themselves with the FIRST Muslim POTUS at the helm of the train from hell.

When the bombs start going off in malls and schools near where WE LIVE set off by the peaceful Muslims Hussein loves so much, even Baby Bush will get elected if he is a Repub.

This is really terrible reporting. Gun sales in America are indeed soaring. Right now we are buying about 20 million guns a year, a fantastic number. But 140 million?? No way.

Re: Armed robberies have decreased by 70 percent since 1993.

Not surprised by that at all.

Fewer and fewer people carry cash. Everyone has a cell phone, including potential witnesses. More and more video surveillance. More potential victims carry guns. And, until recently, many of the most dangerous and violent criminals were in jail.

Ironic that the world's greatest gun slaesman boaste that crime has plummeted during his watch - as more guns than ever were put into the hands of the Peopel - and that we could have even better results by taking the guns away...

Ironic and priceless!

“You forgot a shooting range in every neighborhood.”

It is best to call them “gun safety shooting ranges”.

Who can be opposed to gun safety?

In New Jersey, to obtain a carry permit you must prove a need to carry. Unless you are “connected” the proof is almost never sufficient. So your choice is to be defenseless or to cease being a law abiding citizen.
