That would be a bold play. Probably better placed as a top adviser or chief of staff as others have also stated.

If anyone has been listening to the Warsaw ramblings over the last hour, they know in their hearts that America is in desperate need of new leadership.

Trump's closest advisers and partners should not be, or become, syncophants. Rather, they should be men/women whose pursuits of knowledge, understanding of human nature, and experience in leadership will supplement his own.

Further, they should be persons who have cared enough about the history of America, and of its unique role in expanding individual liberty, that they have studied the history of civilization and can appreciate why some have described America as "exceptionable."

Such persons would not, then, serve as an "echo chamber" for him, but, with honesty and courage, keep him, should he ever be inclined to do so, from going abroad and presenting the image of America that the current president has and does.

Trump will select Gingrich because Gingrich has shown the audacity to seize the position by actively campaigning for it.

Trump loves winners.

Stick Newt somewhere else. Newt should be disposable in a single day.

His mouth will get ahead of his brain, IMHO.

Newt, No! Santorum, yes! He couldn’t yield to Santorum in 2012, and we got Mittens. Now it’s “Rick’s turn”.

Newt would be my favorite pick for VP and put a thumb in a few people’s eyes which would suit me just fine. I just don’t think Trump will pick a well known conservative like Newt. Whoever it is ... it will be designed to surprise and shake up the Hillary camp.

I thought we heard from all the Gingrich bashers in the last few days reciting the same stuff over and over. You guys should just create a NeverNewt.com web site.

yes - invaluable on the WH staff, but Newt would cost Trump heavily at the polls, IMO!

Gingrich is yesterday. By decades.

Trump doesn’t need that.

Newt has truly helped set the government in a better direction in the past, but it’s hard to get past aspects of his personality.

He craves attention, while you sense Trump uses attention, which he does not “crave.”

The Dems would limit the VPs to one debate because Gingrich would mop the floor with any of them.
