The black Army veteran who killed five Dallas police officers donned a protective vest and used a military-style semi-automatic rifle in the sniper slayings, officials said, an attack that layered new anxiety onto a nation already divided about guns and how police treat African-Americans.
Micah Johnson was killed by a robot-delivered bomb Thursday after the shootings, which marked the deadliest day for U.S. law enforcement since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
In all, 12 officers were shot just a few blocks from where President John F. Kennedy was slain in 1963.

“There will be no linkage to BLM or the NBP or any other such organization.”
No one asked me, but . . . it seems the BLM movement has been taken over by, and become the symbol of, radical racism. Violent radical racism.
My remaining liberal neurons feel that POTUS should: condemn today’s radical BLM racism and call for any decent Americans within the BLM movement to come out of the organization and to denounce what the movement has become.
Further, POTUS should take down any BLM flags or symbolism that shows up on federal property. Maybe put them in a museum somewhere within the context of the Chicago War casualties and the depraved heart murders of so many innocent law enforcement officers.
Reminds me of an old Bill Mauldin cartoon of Willie and Joe BACK HOME.
Willie is reading the paper whose headlines screams SOLDIER SLAPS AUNT!!!
He says to his wife...”Here is an article about a triple axe murder on page six. No GIs involved.”
On another web page it says the shooter in Dallas used an SKS, not an evil “A-s-s-sault Rifle”. I can’t find an “Official” statement for that though.
Oh, yeah? So there right back atya... Nyaaah! :^)
Lol!
Amazing how their “experts” just seem to pop out of the woodwork, ain’t it? And somehow, they always seem to come from anti-Rights groups.
As for what it actually was or wasn’t, I was just responding to the SKS comment. I haven’t heard whether it was an AR or a WWI Lebel-Berthier bolt action...
And you indeed correct, my friend... it doesn’t matter at all.
The SKS is a legit military rifle. The SKS is better at accuracy than the standard AK-47 due usually to barrel-bolt design. I’d take one for sniping work over and ak47 but the AR would be better. You can’t set optics to the SKS without complicating reloads. Detachable magazines are possible but are hit and miss.
I remember going into pawn shops back in the early 1970s and seeing SKS rifles everywhere, brought back by returning troops. There was NO AMMO to be had anywhere so they had no use for them.
It is part of the description of someone. Just as a lead is often mother of 3, or father. The press likes to lead like that instead of black male shoots, or white male shoots.
E-3? Hell, don’t they give you E-2 right after basic? Only one more promotion in the remaining 5 1/2 years? Not particularly ambitious.

Oh, to go back in time with a fistful o’ cash, huh? :^)
“The SKS round performs well within the enevelop it was designed for, like anything else”
When my urban friends ask me about a weapon, I always tell them get a pistol first for EDC and then an AKM or SKS for those special days of rioting. When your distance is limited by the jungles of Vietnam, the swamps of Missouri, or the buildings in large cities, the 7.62x39mm is my first choice. Plus you don’t have to clean it as often. It’s also a club or spear, if needed.
It always goes bang, no matter what ammo you run through it.
One of my favorite pea-shooters, for sure.
Yeah.
Races are only mentioned in headlines as it fits the narrative.
Oh, and race determines whether the media says “don’t jump to conclusions” or “jump to conclusions”.
With a mother who names her son Mica X who knows what drug his mother was on during her pregnancy
“I remember going into pawn shops back in the early 1970s and seeing SKS rifles everywhere, brought back by returning troops.”
Back in the early 90’s, up until the first Clinton/Brady Bunch gun ban, out here in the Rocky Mountain states it was common to go into a local hardware store that also sold sporting goods and find package deals of an SKS with a sardine can of +/- 1000 rounds for about $70.
And you would be correct!
He was in the Army Reserve, deployed to Afghanistan, and was discharged after 6 years. thus he is a veteran.
Baboons Love Mayhem?
“an attack that layered new anxiety onto a nation already divided about guns and how police treat African-Americans.”
The Associated Pimps never disappoint.
The next move will be to put all veterans on the No Fly List.
“6 years in and he was still an E-3?
Sure sign of a loser.”
So that means he could walk and chew bubblegum, but not simultaneously?
Just want to make sure I have the correct mental picture.
