I learned a long time ago to wait for the details to come out before passing judgement.
What bothers me about this incident was how his BFF acted like she was doing a screen test for an appearance on “The View” while the guy was dying. That was friggen’ WEIRD. I don’t care who you are, that was WEIRD. Life is cheap if you can get a good YouTube video out of somebody dying.

Yep. And make an effort to keep your hands in view if you are asked to move or to retreive registration, etc. Going for the back pocket, for a wallet, is a risky (but necessary) move! I get that done before the officer is at the door - papers out of glovebox too, if enough time. But hands on the wheel, near the top, as "relaxed" as you can manage considering you are about to get a ticket ;-)

That is easy enough to verify. Why hasn’t someone already done that officially?
Has the validity of the GF been vetted yet? Was she a girlfriend of more than two dates? Is she an honest person of integrity or a lying player from drug/gang culture?
Hold on. I’m a big supporter of open and concealed carry.

He informed the officer he was carrying and the officer told him not to reach behind him and he did.
Now, it sounds like this officer over-reacted and, if he did, he needs to be punished.
If you carry, you can’t carry and drink, let alone do drugs.
But if you have a CCW, whether you are carrying or not, when an officer pulls you over:
1. Keep your hands visible and don’t move them.
2. Tell him you have a CCW permit.
3. Tell him whether you are carrying or not.
4. If you are carrying, ask the officer how he wants to proceed.
5. Follow his instructions. If he tells you not to reach somewhere, do not reach. If you disobey, the officer may assume you are using your informing him of your CCW as a cover to pull the weapon on him.
Not her first exposure to a firefight, that's for sure.
