I have a CCW and I am smart enough to know that when an officer pulls me over, he routinely will run my plates, and my CCW status will promently be displayed next to my name.
Not being an idiot, I turn on the dome lights, lower my drivers window and place both hands on the top of my wheel and wait for the officer to approach before greeting him courteously. This has never failed to be returned in a professional and courteous manner.
You would be amazed at how many warnings I have gotten, instead of tickets by showing some basic respect to officers who put their lives on the line every day.
Agreed; It just did not make sense that a guy with a CCW permit would get shot “supposedly” reaching for his wallet after telling the policeman he had a gun and a permit. When I went through my CCW training (taught by a police office) we were told the same thing, both hands on the wheel and comply with the officers instructions. The girlfriend says after he told the police he had a weapon and permit the policeman told him to get his license and registration and then shot him. I don’t buy it. Unfortunately, the media and libs have pounced on this without the facts just like the Micheal Brown deal.
Ditto your entire post, that is also my experience.
Obama’s sons have yet to learn that, and thus end up dead more than they would otherwise.
Cops don’t need to know. CCW holders are not and have never been a threat. They are mis-trained and misinformed because of political correctness.
