Been wondering for years just when America became majority black because it sure seems that way on TV.

It's the TV commercial "Rule Of 3": if three people appear in an advertisement, one of them must be black, no matter how contrived it is.

I remember remarking on this to a black friend of mine, way back in the 1980s. She said that she had studied this phenomenon and that it had a name: the "black wave." (I don't know if it's still called that, or not.) At that time, it was used for groups of four: three whites and one black. Always.
