Not “lover”, instead, “female paramour.” Our Victorian ancestors had some wonderfully descriptive words in standard English.
Yeah but it sounds like a better coupling than it really is when you use those wonderfully descriptive words. I will agree though, lover is not the right word either. Instead it should have been perverted sexual plaything.
